We are situated on the borders of three counties,
Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset.
Here at Cherwell Leys we had the opportunity to live our dream.
We found that alpacas are suitable to farm on small acreages and are relatively straightforward
to tend, even for the novice. In addition, alpacas have been accepted as a viable farming option to fulfil the requirements of PPS7
for planning permission to build new agricultural accommodation in the countryside. Alpacas are bred for their valuable fibre. Here at Cherwell Leys
we use their fibre to produce hand knitting wool, hand knitted or hand woven products.
As a working alpaca farm we are able to offer help and advice to newcomers
about these wonderful and charming creatures. We are members of the British Alpaca Society
and all our alpacas are registered with the society.
We are concentrating on breeding alpacas for finer fibre, the future of alpacas in the UK.
New and Exciting Elite Stud Males have arrived at Cherwell Leys bringing with them superior pedigrees including Jolimont Commisario, NWA Ruffo and
Rural Alianza Peruvian Hemingway.
All our stud males are 100% owned by and reside at Cherwell Leys Alpacas.
